Athletics
ASD is a member of the West Africa International Schools Activity League (WAISAL), and participates in tournaments and competitions with other member schools in West Africa.
The competitive sports and athletic programs at ASD encourage intercultural co-operation and the development of a sense of fair play for all of our student/athletes. We help our students learn and understand the principles of group participation and individual responsibility, as well as the development of a sense of self-control and discipline.
Athletes at ASD understand the importance of participation to the best of one’s abilities and broaden their horizons through travel and socialization, which they gain through program exchanges with WAISAL and local community schools. The most important ingredients of our athletic programs are that our athletes have fun and learn to compete, and understand that these goals will help them to become successful in their future endeavors after high school.
