Welcome to the website of the American School of Douala! We’re glad you’re visiting, and hope you find our website useful and informative.
ASD is a small, friendly, student-centered  day school for boys and girls aged 3-16.  We are fully accredited by the Middle States Association (MSA), and offer a competitive, high-standard American education to both  expatriate and local students. ASD is also an active member of the Association of International  Schools in Africa (AISA).
While ASD has  been educating students for over thirty years, we are now located in new facilities which opened in 2009. Our beautiful campus features 20 classrooms, a covered gymnasium, a grassed sports field with a running track, two computer labs, Wi-fi throughout, a library, and a multi-purpose room. We offer two parallel preschool programs—one taught in English and the other taught in French. Beginning in Grade 1, instruction is in English with French taught as an additional language. There is also an  ESL program for students who need help with English. We offer a variety of after-school activities and opportunities for parent involvement, both in the school and with ASD’s Board.
I am delighted to be here in the vibrant city of Douala as Director of ASD, where we aim to develop competitive, self-confident, compassionate students who contribute positively to our global community. We provide a supportive, multi-cultural environment which encourages every student to achieve their maximum potential.
Thank you for visiting, and please don’t hesitate to  contact us for more information.
