| Founded in 1978, the American
School of Douala (ASD) is an independent coeducational, non-sectarian
school, which provides an English language educational program from
pre-school through ninth grade.
The academic year is divided into quarters with each quarter having forty-five days. The total number of teaching days is 180. A culturally diverse student body and faculty promote cross-cultural relations and exchanges which enrich and expand global sensitivity and perspective. This global awareness among the student body encourages the development of responsible, caring citizens. A nine-member Board of Governors directs the business affairs of the school. The board meets monthly and encourages the presence and participation of teachers and parents as non-voting observers. Postal Address 767, Ave des Palmiers P.
